About the Author
Carol Bloom Paine was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, eighty miles upriver, where she met her husband and has remained ever since. She taught middle and high school for over thirty years, and received many awards for her teaching. She was named a “Fellow” by both the Woodrow Wilson National Foundation and the Academic Distinction Fund. Carol has served as an instructor of classes for teachers at LSU and Southern University, as well as mentored many new teachers. She has two wonderful children and five fantastic grandchildren.
