About the Book

Our natural conception and birth is a result of human cooperation and establishes the priority the Creator places on our dependency on others for success and personal progress. This work is evidence to this collaboration and substantiates the reality that we are a sum total of all the influences made to our lives by the people we have had the privilege to come across on the journey of life. I am deeply appreciative for the inspiration and wisdom of the men and women, both past and present, which, through their lives, instructions, corrections, challenges, commitment, and example, disturbed gifts within me I never knew existed.

About the Author

In the canvassed landscaping and fertile terrain of Clarksville, Texas, a son was born to L. B. and Winifred Gaffney on October 19, 1939. Only God could know the “charted destiny and great promise” that was being formed within the heart and mind of this young lad. In fact, being the “only son” born to this couple, this little brother shared his early childhood with two loving sisters; Mamie Teague of Albuquerque New Mexico and Rose Bradley of Aurora Colorado. His name is Cecil Gaffney, and the amazing “fruit” of all of his labors and the profound depth of his many gifts, talents, and anointing’s from birth are now being witnessed within the very “chambers” of Tacoma Washington and adjacent Communities. Cecil’s family relocated to Hobbs New Mexico in 1948 where he enrolled into Booker T Washington School System (BTW). He remained in the system until the integration of the Hobbs School District. Cecil begins his freshman year at Houston Junior High and a year later attends Hobbs High School. He found himself in a dilemma of staying in Hobbs and finish high school or following his dream that additional and ameliorate opportunities existed elsewhere. Several years after residing in Hobbs, during one of BTW May Day celebration, he was riding his new bicycle when this energetic young girl hopped on the back of it and needless to say, after several bicycle’s episodes he ended up marrying this beautiful young lady,” Doris Ann Doss” and through this union emerged four children; Gary, Neressa, Sheryl, and Jeffery. After 57 years Doris and Cecil are still joking and laughing about the bicycle episodes. In October of 1957 Cecil decided to join the military and spent the next 28 years in the United States Air Force. While fulfilling his military commitment serving in the Air Force, he received many medals, citations and achievement awards. He was awarded: The Meritorious Service Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, The Air Force Commendation medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, The Distinguished-Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 silver and 1 bronze oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and selected as The Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the year on three occasions. In pursuit of his educational goal, he received an AA degree from Rose State College in Oklahoma City, AA degree from the College of the Air Force, BS from the University of New York State, and MPA from City University. He is a licensed Hypnotherapist with emphasis in Marriage and Family Relations. He is a member of the “American Association of Christian Counselors” and Association of Christian Psychology”. He is more than an average sports fan and his favorite team is the LA Lakers. He reads, play scrabble, above average photographer and loves creating photo projects, such as photobooks, greeting cards, personal calendars, and special event programs. He has a passion for helping married couples especially newlyweds and those couples less than seven years of marriage.
