About the Author

Lindsey Duplechain Halley was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in Church Point, Louisiana. She is the oldest daughter of Lloyd and the late Lucy Duplechain. After graduating from Church Point High School in 1975 she attended USL and joined the U.S. Army in 1978. Lindsey is a retired Army First Sergeant. She served on Active Duty and in the USAR. She served two tours in Iraq and Kuwait and was mobilized numerous times during her Army career. As a Citizen-Soldier and Warrior her civilian jobs were in Human Resources and Finance, which paralled her Army military specialities. Lindsey received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Grantham University and currently resides in Lafayette, Louisiana with her fiancé Terry and their Manx cat, Miss Kitty. She has one daughter, Mia Alisha-Rose Halley,and is mother “Aunt Nonnie” to her late sisters five children, Tamra, Micah, Michael, Reginald and Desiree and, a grandmother to her great-niece Malijah and great-nephew Noah. Lindsey is an avid reader, loves to write, volunteer and spend time with her family and friends. This is her first children’s book.
