About the Book

All of these poems were born in Bermuda, a British isolated island in the North Atlantic. The nearest land mass is roughly 600 miles west of Bermuda. Each poem offers a brief glance of some aspect of Bermudian life: as, weather patterns and how they influence this Island’s rhythm; creatures that live here; the quirky road names; the unique walls which criss-cross the Island. And so much more. For those who are curious about Bermuda, those who have visited and all those who reside here, these poems were written for all of you. It has been the author’s intention to write poems that are accessible to all, so you don’t have to be a poetry lover to enjoy them

About the Author

Juli was born in England and moved to Bermuda as a teenager with her parents. She felt an instant response to the Island and developed a strong affinity with it. Leaving to further her education in France and Canada, she returned for Christmas, Spring Break and summer vacations, finally bringing her English degree with her. Juli published her first book of poetry, a slim volume entitled “Moments”, in England in 1972. Both her daughter, Nadia, and son Marc worked in Bermuda for a few years, before now residing in Canada. Now, it is the fourth generation of her family who have fallen in love with Bermuda during their frequent visits. She is grateful to Vanessa and Olivia, her granddaughters, who have contributed their artwork to this publication.
