About the Book
This book is about the life of Fred Mackenzie. It represents a period in time that needs to be documented for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren instead of just disappearing into the quicksand of family history. Dr. Mackenzie is president of Mackenzie and Associates. He has more than thirty years of experience as a manager with Mobil Oil and as president of Training House, a major publisher of instructional programs and assessments. He was CEO of International Management Consultants, a European-based consortium of management consultants operating in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Fred’s consulting experience is in three major areas: Managerial leadership, succession planning and strategic planning. He has worked with more than fifty large and midsized organizations. Fred has written two books, 7 Paths to Managerial Leadership, which was published in 2012, and The Accountable Manager, published in 2016.
About the Author
Dr. Mackenzie has a BA in psychology, a BSc in geological engineering and master’s degrees in micropaleontology and psychology. His PhD is in psychology. He was admitted into the American Psychological Association and licensed in the state of New York. During 1944 and 1945, Fred was a naval officer in the South Pacific Theater. After WWII, he was attached to Naval Intelligence and left the military as a commander. He has served on the faculty of Cornell University’s Advanced Management Program, Oxford University’s Institute for Advanced Managerial Studies, and Henley Management College. He was appointed to the advisory board, graduate program in organizational psychology and as an adjunct professor at Columbia University. He has been a member of the American Sociological Association, the American Society of Applied Anthropology, and a fellow of the American Anthropological Association.
