About the Book

Watch and Pray is a book designed to instill in children positive behavior patterns to encourage them to develop proper thought processes and to empower them to serve others. Children are a heritage from God and precious in his sight. Therefore, it is up to parents, relatives, pastors, teachers, etc., to value them with love, care, and concern. Jesus defended them in Matthew 18:6 and 19:14, and our responsibility to train them is given in Deuteronomy 6:7.

About the Author

Elder JoAnn Davis is a native Washingtonian. She attended the public schools of the District of Columbia and graduated from the University of the District of Columbia and the Maple Springs Baptist Bible College and Seminary with a master’s degree in Christian counseling. God called her into the ministry with the mandate “Feed my sheep.” She has been in the ministry for thirty years, serving with various ministries in the Washington, DC, area. She has ministered to children, youth, college students, and adults. She has also ministered to the incarcerated, ex-alcoholics, and ex–drug offenders. She has taught at retreats and seminars and spoken to prayers groups and women fellowships. She is currently serving as pastor of Higher Praise Ministries in Northeast, Washington, DC. She loves the Lord and has found no greater joy than in worshipping and praising God; however, it does not stop there, for she knows that after worship and praise, there is still work to be done. Her life is devoted to John 14:15: “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
