Christopher Harris the branch manager at Global Telecommunications Corporation is given the task of downsizing his sales and support staff by twenty percent. He has six months to execute a job assessment process developed by a consultant firm. After informing his branch of the downsizing announcement, he delegates the task to Regina his human resource manager and the consultant firm. By being involved at a peripheral level, he has time to continue to focus on his material world of his nice home, expensive car and Armani suits. When the sales and support employees are informed of the upcoming downsizing, they declare war to keep their jobs. As most employees gossip about who may be fired, Elyse one of the sales executives focused on closing the largest sale in the country. Once the contract for the sale is officially executed, various sales and support employees and management try desperately to link themselves to the sale to secure their job. The private lives of employees are exposed as they attempt to complete the job assessment process to secure their jobs. A nearly three year old office affair between a manager and subordinate takes a turn for the worse, when a car accident renders one of them in the critical care unit at the hospital and later death. When a sales manager discovers his spouse was having an affair with his female subordinate, he decides to kill them both and then himself. The branch is exposed to one death, two murders and a suicide within two months. During all the unspeakable incidents, Christopher tries desperately to stay on track with the job assessment process. The idea of normalcy is lost as internal warfare continues to explode, until the job assessment process is completed and the final day of reckoning is announced.

Christopher Harris, the Southern California branch manager, was instructed to downsize his workforce by 20 percent within six months. About the Author
Elaine Wilson is the author of A Book of Songs for the Real Housewives of Atlanta, New York, DC, and Beverly Hills (published, 2011). Her new book, Downsized: Corporate to Criminal, is a work of fiction, a page-turning experience. After working in the telecommunication industry for nearly forty years, she witnessed the behavioral psychology of many coworkers by observing the way people behave when threatened each year with the possibility of being downsized. Elaine lives in Alta Loma, California, with Luther, her retired husband, and most of her time is spent being entertained by her ten grandchildren and the sounds of the Las Vegas casinos.
