About the Book

The Beat on the Boardwalk was inspired by the Venice Boardwalk in Venice Beach, California. It was also inspired by the love for my ex-girlfriend, Lauren Murphy Garcia. The poetry started during a four-month breakup. I went to the Boardwalk all the time and absorbed the love of Venice. In the meantime, I am heartbroken. The poetry has movement and takes the reader on a spiritual journey. My pain was great, and I searched for my love on the Boardwalk. I found solace in my own poetry and dedicated a book to a woman I love.
