About the Book

Wildlife is Hailie’s favorite subject to paint because she has a deep love for animals. Illustrating children’s books has allowed her to share her passion for animals with children and families who enjoy these books. Hailie can be contacted at bengalkittylover@yahoo.com.

About the Author

Hailie Christenson is twenty years old, was raised in a Ridgefield, Washington, and has a bachelor’s degree in wildlife ecology. She has a passion for animals, and she loves art. She began taking art lessons at Medallion Art School at age ten in 2004. While there, she received instruction from Oksana Oaks, the best art teacher she could ask for. At the art school, Hailie learned techniques in charcoal, pastel, and oil paints. Her favorite is oil paints, but more recently, she has branched out and discovered new mediums, such as graphite pencil, acrylic paint, and watercolors. Hailie’s artwork has been showcased at the Clark County and Washington State Fair. In addition, she has entered artwork into the Washington State duck stamp competition, where she placed first in division. On weekends, Hailie works with her grandfather to sell her painted rocks and feathers at the farmers’ market.
