About the Book

A firm believer in wisdom, artistic freedom, and expressionism, Shelby Birch dares to unapologetically tell her story. Through anthological spoken word pieces of identity and love, Lit is a lens into the discourse of questions on womanhood, blackness, awkwardness, and heartbreak—all that encompasses her own intersectionality and worldview. About the Author

Born and raised in Orlando, Fl, Shelby realized she had an interest in writing at the age of eight. Now a gradaute of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, Shelby has been able to use her experiences to give life and voice to matters prevelant within the community and world. She has competed in national and international competitions such as College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational, Southern Fried and Brave New Voices while earning many local slam titles.
