INTRODUCTION EVERYTHING WENT BLACK as Musik Raine, everyone’s favorite teacher, fell to the ground, clutching her stomach, praying to God that her unborn child was okay. Arguments led to her being slapped to the ground, choked until she blacked out, head bashed into doors and the floor on which she now lay. Blows to her face and chest left her breathless and in pain, scared to fight back out of fear of losing her babies. This was not the first time; neither was it the last. However, she noticed that each and every current situation prepared her for a future-present situation. It was all a part of growing up. Of course, she didn’t plan for her life to go the way it did, but she figured it was all a part of the process. Musik made a choice not to waste her time on self-pity and sadness the day she realized that she was too big a gift to the world. So now, each day, the Lord blesses her with life, health, and strength. She is another step closer to her divine purpose, and she is forever grateful. She is humbled by struggle, is positively changed by pain, and is a success story in the making. Musik believes that the moment everyone realizes how to recover without hurting others, or one another, is the moment where they have finally grown up.

The ideal teacher is always expected to have a perfect life, free from all the hardships and obstacles that everyday humans fight to overcome. Musik Raine is not your ideal teacher. Her simple yet complex life will blow your mind. She herself will blow her own mind as she finally discovers her strength after realizing and accepting the impact of her past decisions on her current life situations. As she teaches her students lessons, life itself continues to teach her lessons. Will she learn the lessons that life is trying to teach her, or will she continue repeating her past?
About the Author
Jessika C. Hearne is an author, a single mother of three amazing kids, and a graduate of Texas Southern University. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Education Administration, and is an educator committed to helping change lives every day within the teaching profession. She is an aspiring administrator who became the Teacher of the Year for her campus and then moved on to become the district Teacher of the Year. Her ultimate goal in life is to inspire and help as many people as she comes in contact with. She strongly believes that the moment we, as humans, realize how to recover without hurting one another is the moment where we have finally grown up.
