About the Book

During the 1940s in rural communities, housing was not plentiful. Young married couples did not have many options of where they could live to start their lives if building a home was not an option. Billy Ray, a child being raised by his grandparents, realizes the difficulty his grandparents endured as a result of not having housing choices. The stories his grandfather shared echoed within him and left an everlasting imprint. Mystery at Bluebonnet Plantation brings readers into a Christmas celebration that takes place on a family farm where everyone is startled by the news of a strange event that repeatedly occurred in an old house rented by Josephus and Martha Brown. As a result, family members are profoundly reminded of the importance of those who make life worth living.

About the Author

The author, Mary M. Brown, was born in 1963 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. When she became a middle school Language Arts Teacher in Georgia, she was inspired to write when she instructed her students to write. However, her writing did not become heartfelt until she began writing the stories her husband, Billy Ray Brown Sr., shared with her about his childhood memories of growing up in rural Texas.
