About the Book
When I was on active duty I would place funny jokes, photos, anecdotes, funny sea stories and even short articles that sailors seemed to really enjoy and comment on on my office door. I did it to try and bring a smile to someone’s face, improve morale and uplift my shipmates. It became very popular and I started collecting them after I posted them daily. Someone might tell me a joke, or I might read it on the internet, I might see it in a magazine and try to militarize it. It became so popular my XO would post them in our shipboard newsletters and they really caught on. Even though I was a lowly Lieutenant, I became popular and began getting requests (ordered) to speak at certain command events because of my humor and abilities to laugh and make others laugh was noticed and appreciated. After retiring I decided to write a book and include many of the humorous insights, jokes, sea stories, and lore about not just my beloved Navy but all the uniformed services. I have attempted to do so and if I can bring a smile to some sailor, jarhead, grunt, or guardsman then I have accomplished what I set out to do. I hope you check it out and find it worthy.
