BJ is finding out the hard way that his classmates perceive him as different, which is not cool at his school. They constantly tease him and call him hurtful names. Without any friends, he seeks help from his art teacher who triggers an eye-opening conversation between BJ and his parents. When he realizes that his biracial heritage is just as significant as any other racial heritage, BJ begins to show a confident attitude that helps him appreciate his own self-worth.

About the Author

Felisha Williams grew up in Champaign, Illinois. She educates and mentors children from all age groups and enjoys writing on topics that children often experience in school, family, and other settings. She lives in Georgia with her two children and pet dog.
