The cupcake/CupCake.

Real or mythic, “the cupcake” may lie deep in the psyche of the female. The feminists of the 60s, who named her, considered her image influential enough to be a major menace. The Cinderella Theory had its day. Perhaps it is time now to unravel some of the mysteries about our CupCake. For example, why is she given a golden bullet on her wedding night?

And what of the rumor of her Double Darkness? Despite her distaste for the brutish and the unseemly, she is still the formidable defender of Man, Manse, and Moppet and takes an inordinate delight in horses? Is there some validity to the rumors bruited about—does our proper CupCake indeed have an underside?

Myth or otherwise let this little offering, The CupCake Book, be a memorial to her. And if a reader detects a light hearted tone throughout these pages, it is probably intended.
