About the Book

Deputy Bob Harper brings in the local cowman suspected in a bank robbery, even though Davy is Harper’s friend, fast with a gun, and possibly suspected of murder. When Davy narrowly misses a lynching, Harper decides to move him out of danger. Davy’s sister Bella won’t be left behind. An encounter with the gang that did rob the bank, and still has the loot, is the beginning of a running fight that goes through outlaw hideouts, gold camps, and Indian country, ending finally on the remote spread where the outlaw leader is himself a rancher. With the bank funds returned, it remains only for Bob Harper to defend Bella’s ranch against the bank and the rustlers who have gathered to pick it clean.
