About the Author

James W. Spain spent most of his life in the Foreign Service of the United States, serving as Ambassador to Tanzania, the United Nations, Turkey, and Sri Lanka. He is the author of three non-fiction books on the Pathans of Pakistan and Afghanistan, an account of American Diplomacy in Turkey, and a diplomatic memoir. He has also written nine separate novels about the adventures in exotic places of “Dodo” Dillon, a retired American diplomat. In retirement he lives in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
