About the Book
Stayin’ Even Book Summary This story is an attempt to tell how a street smart man of color rises above the problems of a big city to grab a small share of the “American Dream”. Then how, due to his own failings and a change in the global economy that filters down to his level, he must give it all up and relocate to another part of the country. All goes reasonably well in his new life until the country, just limping along as the world’s policeman, goes thru even worse economic depression and is attacked with nuclear weapons. Our hero is relatively safe for awhile but then the country is invaded, suffers natural disasters and a deadly plague which may have been released from its own weapons stockpile. All of which test his will to live and survival skills to the limit.
