About the Book

Molly, the Gecko Hunter, with its lively illustrations, is a humorous true story set in a tropical jungle that surrounds a small Mexican B&B near Tulum. The adventures of the house dogs center on the sport of gecko hunting as they explore their natural surroundings. Learn the names of local trees, plants and animals as the three dogs set out one morning on a hunt that ends in the hotel’s dining room under a palapa roof. The glossary at the end of the book reflects on the book’s illustrations with the names in English, Spanish, and Mayan.

About the Author

Moe Mulrooney retired from her life’s passion, teaching children in a pre-school she founded, directed and taught at for twenty-five years in Vail, Colorado, to follow a dream to build a B&B with her husband in Mexico. They closed one door of their life and entered another with a different culture, language and environment waiting to be explored. Under her married name, Mari Pintkowski, she published a travel memoir, Embarking on the Mariposa Trail, about their adventures in Mexico. After her grandson was born, she wrote a children’s book about life in the tropical jungle that surrounds La Selva Mariposa.
