About the Book
Rosie and the Sleeping Giant is a semi-true story as seen through the frightened eyes of a little dog, Rosie, who experienced the wrath of Hurricane Wilma, “The Sleeping Giant.” She emerged out of the Mayan jungle near Tulum, Mexico, and found herself on the grounds of a natural paradise, La Selva Mariposa. The vibrant illustrations will bring Rosie’s story to life. Learn the names of local trees and birds and a bit of Spanish and Mayan, as well as how Rosie survived the peril of the Sleeping Giant.
About the Author
Moe Mulrooney retired from her life’s passion—teaching children in a preschool she founded and directed for twenty-five years in Vail, Colorado—to follow a dream to build a B&B with her husband in Tulum, Mexico. Her first children’s book—Molly, the Gecko Hunter—is a humorous story about the adventures of the house dogs. It centers on the sport of gecko hunting as they explore the grounds of La Selva Mariposa. A glossary in English, Spanish, and Mayan is included in the book. Under her married name, Mari Pintkowski, she published two travel memoirs, Embarking on the Mariposa Trail and Shifting Gears: A Journey of Reinvention.
