About the Book
A WISH AWAY is a children’s story about a little girl who runs away from home where there’s domestic violence. She falls asleep in the woods and is awakened by tiny creatures calling her. The tiny creatures have also run away from home. Though we know that domestic violence cannot be erased through a fantasy, this little girl is “awakened” by the sound of her father’s voice calling her. He and her mother take her back home, promising to never be violent again.
