About the Book

The main character, Lisa, has run away from her third foster parent’s house. She now finds herself in an empty field and nowhere to go. Miraculously her luck changes when she meets a stranger who offers to take her in. After a little encouragement, Lisa finally accepts. She is holding her breath because she is still suspicious and can’t believe good fortune may finally be coming her way. Her mind returns to the past when she had met other people who seemed genuinely concerned about her well being. Never in her wildest dream had she thought that she would be so lucky to be treated so well. The Neals became her extended family and much, much more. They turned out to be exactly what Lisa had been searching for all of her life. So many surprises awaited Lisa in her new life. All of them helped to transform her life into one that was beyond anyone’s wildest imagination.

About the Author

I was born and raised in Brookshire, Texas. I am married and have two daughters and six grandchildren. I graduated from Royal High School in 1968. After receiving a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Prairie View A&M University, I began teaching in Rosenberg, Texas. I taught reading to middle school students. I went back to college in 1998 and received a Masters Degree in Administration. After 32 years of service, I retired in May of 2005. Since writing is my passion, I decided to delve into it whole-heartedly. This book, Too Many Good-byes, is the results of my effort.
