About the Author
I am a Canadian-born mother of two beautiful children, Abbey and Brad. I am a Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist in practice for over 19 years. As my children have grown up, I have taken an active role in their education. This story came to life one day after my 10 year old daughter Abbey came home from school and announced that she had to write a story. She decided that it would be the "Diary of a Crayon". My immediate reaction was that this was going to be a very long night. Rather, it proved to be a truly magical, memorable evening working with Abbey and watching her excitement grow as "Red Crayon" struggled with his identity and eventually discovered his importance and acceptance in the world. - Stephanie Ash M.D. I am a 10 year old girl from Michigan, excited about starting Grade 5 at Hughes Elementary. I have two turtles, a dog named Teddy, and two fish. I love to read, write poems and stories, dance and tease my older brother Brad. - Abbey Lauren Ash Behan
