Little Jody was a very happy child. She was five years old and had Down syndrome and suspected autism. Peanut remembers hearing all the stories about Little Jody after she was born. At such a young age, only four months old, she had to have open-heart surgery. The doctors fixed the holes in her heart, and they created her a new valve. The family was at the hospital, and they were worried, as Little Jody went through her open-heart operation. Peanut remembers waiting in the hotel room for Barbara to return from the hospital with news. When Barbara returned, she was happy and singing as she was telling Peanut that the open-heart operation went well.

About the Book
This book is about a girl named Barbara, and her very special adopted pet Peanut the sugar glider. In this volume, Peanut experience’s a tornado, when it hits the family’s farm. With the help from his new woodland friends, Peanut is reunited with the family after the tornado. Peanut discovers the family will be living with Little Jody who has Down syndrome and Autism until their home is rebuilt.
