This book does not intend to prove or disapprove any theories or hypothesis about the subject matter covered. It is written for the general public, and as such, no scientific, mathematical or technical scholastic arguments are put forward in support or rejection of stated theories. The intention of this book is to present the currently accepted theories and hypothesis of the subjects in a simple, easy to understand language. To expound the arguments and rationale rendered by the recognized and instituted experts about the subject matter. Next, the flaws and infirmities inherent in some of the claims and assumptions stipulated by the experts will be examined. As a final point, based on the summation of all the facts and records furnished, when possible, an alternative supposition, certainly logical but at times, highly speculative will be presented to the readers.
The actual purpose, as stated earlier, is not to prove or disapprove anything, but to stimulate the mind of the reader into asking questions, the right questions, and hopefully new ones. The topics covered in this book concern some of the fundamental issues that most of us, at one time or other, have either discussed or at least contemplated. In most instances, we naturally accept the narrative given by the authorities, simply because many of us don’t have the time to individually research the topic, most of us do not care, because whatever the answer, it doesn’t affect our everyday life, and others have already decided on the answers due to religious, social, or cultural dogmas. They do not want alternative answers or solutions. They feel comfortable and safe in a predetermined conviction, immersed in a cocoon of certainty. Some still believe that the world was made in six days, and that Adam was created in 4004 BC, as calculated by archbishop James Ussher in 1650.
But more importantly and to the point. Our scientists, historians, archeologists, academics, clerics, and politicians must all work within a pre-established and unwavering framework. It is an unwritten guideline, rigorously enforced at all levels to ensure that the masses remain convinced as well as motivated to comply with the unwritten mandate.
Of course, with regards to our first topic, “The Origin of Universe” this unwritten mandate is far less prescribed, as it does not trespass into the subtle doctrines of the establishment. Most people do not give priority to the very theoretical and abstract arguments about when or how our universe came into being. In addition, the multifaceted, scientific arguments are far too complex for the masses to become involved. So, most of us leave these matters to the experts, as we should, and accept whatever their conclusions. Still, even such complicated matters are not beyond the logic or comprehension of our intellect. We can still think about it. We can still decide whether it makes sense and whether it is acceptable. We should never take anything for granted or as given, simply because the establishment decrees and authorities implement them. We can always have our own opinion, and when we have formed an opinion, we will naturally think about its pros and cons. This is the definition of wisdom. It matters little if we manage to reach a conclusion or judgement, or still endure uncertainty at the end of our thinking process, what matters is the journey.
Our second subject, “Origin of life on earth” has been much more explicitly documented, with definite records and evidence available in archeological archives. However, it is still a great mystery, worthy of further investigation. All science and archeology can tell us is that around 3.5 billion years ago, the first form of life, Prokaryotes were formed, or came into existence. They are single celled organisms with no nucleus or other membrane organelles, but they carry a small amount of genetic material in a single molecule, called circular DNA or chromosome. It is well known fact that amino acids are the building blocks of life. They can be formed through natural chemical reactions, like all other chemical compounds. However, amino acid is just a chemical, just like all other chemicals, quite unrelated to creating “Life”. The mystery lies in the fact that life does not spontaneously ensue by formation of amino acids. Life is initiated only when the amino acid is fashioned into protein and nucleic acid. This does not happen of its own volition, it is launched, it’s activated. This means that Life on earth either arrived accidentally from out of space on an asteroid or comet, in what is known as Panspermia. Or it was planted here on earth on purpose. Both explanations raise serious questions.
Probably the biggest mystery is that of Home sapiens. The appearance on earth of modern humans is a scientific as well as religious enigma. By all accounts, religion and science don’t usually make good companions. They disagree on major fundamental issues. The evolutionists have some huge gaps in their Darwinian Theory, “Missing Link” is just one of many. The so-called Creationists, face a daunting challenge. They are trying to climb mount Everest without legs and with no oxygen reserves. Neither, Evolutionists nor Creationist can give a satisfactory interpretation of the facts, regarding the appearance of modern man. The Creationists, having an obsession only found in religious zealots, are clutching at every straw they can reach, not to prove their point, but simply to make it presentable, such as “Intelligent Design” and so forth. Besides, even the Old Testament speaks of making the modern Man, or Homo sapiens, not creating it. The Evolutionists, although faring much better, face some very fundamental questions. Either the possible answers pose more complicated questions, or the rational solution is so controversial that the Establishment will endeavor to ridicule or invalidate the logical conclusion, regardless of the evidence or caliber of the scholar reporting, as it would not fit within their cozy framework of history and religion. The Establishment has done this numerous times before, notwithstanding the circumstances, or people involved.
