About the Book

When I eventually decided to commence the story of my life in 2010 and I had embarked on the journey of writing this book, I found that I had opened a 'Pandora’s box' of emotions. For so many years during my domestic abuse I had learnt to hide all of my emotions and appear to be emotionless, whilst hiding the turmoil inside my head and heart. The nightmares returned with vengeance. The only reason that I had to continue living was for my children and their safety.

My life as a domestic abuse victim was awful but somewhere hidden in your heart is a very small place, (locked away) that knows that you are a valued and deserving person. Reading my book will send shivers down your spine and you will be very emotional at times, but that is normal. When you, (or someone you know) search for the strength and courage to find a better life for yourself and your family, that is when my story will encourage you to follow your heart and find the solution to your abusive environment - leave the relationship!

In my book are contact links for each State in Australia for domestic abuse assistance, whether for safety, financial, children's counseling or other services you will be able to access them easily.

Life in the non-violent world is amazing as you no longer fear the person that you live with. Be aware that you will question whether or not you should return to the relationship. Do NOT return as it will probably be the single worst decision of your life. Be strong and in a year’s time, when you look back at this time, you will be amazed at the strong person that you have become and what you have achieved.
