About the Book

This unique interview book stems from the days when South Africa`s notorious Apartheid regime collapsed. It was written in January of 1988 and I present the talks as they were recorded then. It brought me straight into the heart of the cultural resistance while simultaenously revising anthropological research, too. I looked at the contribution the Arts could play in terminating racial segregation and asked respondents if they would use their creative activity in this regard rather than practicing Art-for-Arts-sake? The book includes a detailed bibliography, a comprehensive set of footnotes and a black and white photo of respondents.

About the Author

Baerbel Will-Trebeg, 1939 in Braunschweig geboren, absolvierte an der dortigen TH eine Ausbildung als Elektroassistentin, und schulte später zur Bankkauffrau um. Sie war mit Gerhard Will verheiratet, und hat 2 Kinder. Seit 1983 schreibt sie Lyrik und Prosa. Sie besuchte ein Literaturseminar bei Walter Kempowski und schrieb sich als Gasthörerin am Institut für Bayrische Literaturgeschichte in Muenchen ein. Neben selbst gedruckten Buechern wie der Gedichtsammlung „Zwischenzeilenferne“ und den Erzaehlbaenden „Im Kreis der Stühle“, „Interfee“ und „Kästchen“, veröffentlichte sie auch viele Reportagen und Reiseberichte im Ebersberger Teil der Sueddeutschen Zeitung. Sie lebt heute in der Naehe von Lueneburg.
