About the Book

This booklet contains "Names of counties, hamlets, towns a villages in

New York State.

It is intended to make it easier to learn the source of place names, in

a quick way.

It is my hope that people will gain some interest in understanding and

appreciate, that the establishment and growth of New York State was

based on the immigration of many ethnic groups, that filled a need,

which resulted in a state, that for many years, was the "Empire State."

Also, I would like it to be remembered, that it was through cooperation

and the struggle of wanting to be an "American", that made it possible.

I therefore hope, people take pride in being an "American."
