About the Book

The story involves a 16-year-old First Nations boy who finds himself on a fascinating, sometimes frightening adventure. He will look for five small stones that his grandmother says he must find to end a life of bitterness, and frequent despair.

As he finds each stone, Joe Taylor learns to let the pain of prejudice and anger go. Each stone brings him closer to peace, courage, joy, love and fulfillment.

About the Author

After many years as a news reporter, then editor of a weekly newspaper, Robert Himpfen could no longer ignore the pull to write fiction. He has had two novels and more than ten short stories published.
