About the Book

Destany Elliot had always been an idealist, finding the good in everyone and every situation.  She loved her job as a high school teacher, and her students considered her to be their favorite teacher.  That is, until a young man makes false accusations that turn an entire town against her.  Then she has to face reality; her high ideals had let her down.

Forced to leave her job and her family, she flees to the musty old house that her late aunt had left to her.  Since it was an inanimate object, she had no fear of it letting her down.

Seeing how beautiful the house could be with a little bit of work, Destany throws herself into its renovations, successfully blocking out the world for a while.  But then real life intrudes once again in the form of some menacing emails and the dashing Drake Scott,  who is always willing to rescue a damsel in distress.

But will his love be enough to gain her trust and win her heart?
