About the Book
Hans and Chieli lives were borne out of bloodshed and violence; their pasts shattered, they found solace in each other and their work. At the dawn of the 22nd century, they become involved with a frenetic drug war involving two pharmaceutical giants. At stake is a drug which holds the key to the human mind, a scientific breakthrough of enormous magnitude and dangerous promise for certain parties. The balance between Hans and Chieli's work and family becomes disrupted as the corporate posturing reaches dangerous levels; soon, their lives are shattered once more. Forced to pick up the pieces and deal with their past, they both embark on a journey to find truth and their identity. The path to the answers they seek-and have sought for all their lives-is one that takes them to the top of the corporate world and to the urban playgrounds of the inner city. The presence of a young basketball phenomenon prompts them to wonder whether it is better to forget or to remember, whether to live in the past or destroy it once and for all.
