About the Author
Father Ordanico G. DelaPena was born in Silay City, Negros Occidental (Philippines). He attended the University of Negros Occidental, where he received a BA in Philosophy. He studied Theology in Rome at the Ateneo Romano della Santa Croce and Pontifical University of Saint Thomas. At the Gregorian Pontifical University, he obtained Licentiate in Church History with Magna Cum Laude, specializing in the period from 1492 to 1963. In studying for the Priesthood, Father DelaPena attended Sacred Heart Seminary in the Philippines for four years, Opus Dei Seminary for two years, the Irish Pontifical College for four years, and completed his formation at Immaculate Conception Seminary in the Archdiocese of Newark. He is taught by five religious orders -- Augustinian Recollects, Dominicans, Franciscans, Jesuits, and Opus Dei. While in Rome, Father DelaPena worked during the summers in the Vatican Museums.
