About the Author

Sabas Whittaker, uses his pen to find peace, harmony and spirituality within. As a former merchant marine and law enforcement officer, now a composer, artist, stage and screen playwright, lyricist and poet. Sabas is often using the craft of writing painting and music as a metaphor for the examined and unexamined life, and cultures, while venturing with wry wisdom into the slow dawning awareness of our evanescence. Throughout this body of work, he invites us to reexamine gentle regrets for time spent dabbling into failed dreams, while he rightfully describes, celebrates and claims passion for the spiritual and meaningful moments lived. Sabas's, new collection of poetry Vestiges of A Journey, is creatively spiked with facts and the reality of our day to day living. And overflowing with feelings of joy, peace, harmony, sadness and the laughter with which we cloak our endeavors via the consequence of ignorant choices made on the pathway to our journey. Vestiges of A Journey, is a creative collection of poems carefully crafted in the English and Spanish language. Sabas Whittaker was born in Honduras and his roots stem from African, British, American and West Indian lineage. Sabas, has also worked in the mental health field for the past 17 years and is currently employed as a Case Manager for the Department of Mental Health and Addictions Services with the state of Connecticut.
