About the Book
This contemporary fairy tale is about twin brothers. One of the twins grows up in California. The other grows up in England where the family lives in exile. At the age of 18 he travels to Masama in northwest America. A secret guardian follows him as well as two revolutionary radicals hoping to do him in. When the twin from California receives a letter telling him he has a brother he decides to find him. On the way he makes friends with Mariah, a woman who owns a farm near Masama, whose husband disappeared some years ago. The woman and her friend, Jim Bridger, along with a local cafe owner, Betsy, try to help him find his brother. They all end up at Blue Lake in the Cascade mountains. This meeting results in tragedy and reunion and a very different future for all of them.
About the Author
My past writings have generally been more academic including a long essay on the Blue Rider Almanac. Other writings include songs and poems with a review now and then. Masama is the first narrative with a tongue in cheek style taking place in popular culture. It arose out of stories told my children.
