About the Book
Sister Ursula has come over from the United States to be the Headmistress of a Catholic Convent School in England. An initially harmless email flirtation with Father Brown, a free-thinking Jesuit, leads to an intense affair between them and to a personal crusade for women to be treated equally to men within the Church.
The searing passion between the two lovers, against a background of their Vows of Chastity and Obedience, makes compelling reading. In this, his first novel, Andrew Muir takes us from the suburbia of London, through the Orient, and finally to the Vatican, where the frailties of even the most orthodox and conservative Cardinals are exposed.
This perceptive and understanding story will provide especial comfort to those who have been brought up believing that sex was solely for the propagation of the species, instead of the most tangible expression of love between two people.
About the Author
Andrew was born in Wimbledon, close to the tennis courts, and was educated by the Jesuits both at Wimbledon College and Stonyhurst. After turning down their invitation to the priesthood he carried out his military service in Palestine.
Raised as a Roman Catholic he left the church when they abandoned Latin for the vernacular. For many years he was a head-hunter, travelling the world with his Chilean born wife, but never did he reach the Vatican. They decided to retire in Chile where they both write.
He is currently writing an historical novel about the byzantine Empress Theodora which will be published in the spring of next year.
