About the Book

This is a story of a lady from a God-fearing American family very much in love with a childhood boyfriend, yearning for the day her marriage would take place, raped by a University professor at a time she was nearly completing her doctorate program at the school.

   The story shows how she struggles to cope with:

.     The chaos and depressions that trouble her mind over that traumatic experience and how to contain them

.     The physical and mental illnesses that suddenly falls on her once the terrible ordeal is over

,     How those illnesses constantly haunt her and how she struggles little by little as time passes to be her normal self again

.     Most of all she struggles with the mental injury and agony embedded in her mind that, as she has broken a promise made many years ago as a child that she would never have sex, yes, remain a virgin till the time her marriage was consummated, she is not fit anymore to be her childhood lover and dearly beloved friend's wife

.     Her psychiatrist who uses ways to improve her that seem extremely drastic, primitive and foreign, in addition to the psychiatric pills prescribed and psychiatric advice given

.     The fact that the ordeal has created a fear for all men and a distrust for everybody except her Mom, her pastor who counsels her and his wife

.     Her Anorexia Nervosa problem, that is, insufficient eating and drinking because of the fear that she will be a victim again if she looks what she was before, a normal and beautiful woman

.     The fact that the only living thing she could tell all her troubles to was her cat who listened patiently without complaints

    The story ends with her killing the rapist with the aid of her beloved cat at her home and declaring to her lover she was no longer a virgin.  As a solution to this problem, her lover lures her to have sex with him and when finished tells her she need not worry anymore as he, just like her, has lost completely his virginity.
