About the Author

Robert W. Christie, M.D. is a retired Adjunct Professor of Pathology at Dartmouth Medical School and was Clinical Laboratory Director in seven hospitals hospitals in New Hampshire and Vermont. His experience as a family doctor before specializing in Pathology gave him an understanding of patients’ frustration with not comprehending the meaning and significance of the medical laboratory and surgical biopsy reports they had received from their doctors. Dr. Christie has written this book in easily understood and patient-friendly terms to help relieve these frustrations. He strongly emphasizes the importance of patients taking responsibility for their own health and well being.
