These ten stories deal sympathetically with love between much older women and very young men, suggesting that, as in the writings of Anton Chekhov, love is a thing that knows no boundaries and indeed can flourish where one might not expect to find at it at all.

About the Author

Peter Thorpe was born in Seattle. He is a Professor Emeritus from the University of Colorado at Denver, where he was Chairman of the Faculty Council and the Denver Faculty Assembly. During the nineteen-fifties he was an officer and aviator in the U.S. Navy. After his naval service he attended the University of Washington, receiving his Ph.D. in English in 1963. He has published numerous books and articles (see inside), and he has been a book reviewer for the Denver Rocky Mountain News for twenty-five years.
