Hailey was so looking forward to Spring and the party that Uncle Jim had promised her. But then they discovered a bird´s nest in the grill. And there were baby bird´s in it! Their neighbor, Mr. Meeny, told Hailey she was wasting her time worrying about those little birds. Will Hailey stand up to Mr. Meeny? Will Uncle Jim be able to have the party he promised Hailey? An interesting twist and a lesson for all of them comes in this tale partially based on a true story!
About the Author
Raised in Belgium, Wisconsin and schooled in Cedar Grove, Jim has from an early age valued the importance that literature and education itself plays in enriching the lives of readers of any age. A graduate of Marquette University, Jim currently works in the communications field. This small work is hoped to be the first in more tales to come. Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Chelsey T. Wood became involved in the arts at a very young age. This influence remained strong throughout school and led to the pursuit of a career within the visual arts. In 2004 Wood graduated from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. Presently she continues to produce work and show throughout Chicago land area. Hailey Clark is the inspiration for this little story. She is a bright, inquisitive 8 year old from Wisconsin. Her family’s Native American heritage assured her love of nature and understanding of our need to protect it. Hailey wants to be a veterinarian when she’s older. There really was a bird’s nest in uncle Jim’s grill and the baby birds stayed safe and one day flew away. Stay tuned for more such stories with Hailey!
