About the Book

“Before and Beyond the Mirror” is a collection of poems set in several emotional modes, and represented in four volumes, that explores the themes of love, friendship, grief as well as, the attitude of choice. Firstly, “The Variegated Colours of Life,” views life from the vantage point of each individual’s unique response to life’s myriad circumstances. Followed by “Kaleidoscope,” which delves into one’s passion for life irrespective of the varied challenges they face. Then, “Death Is Common To All,” explores death in her various shades as a nemesis of the human soul. Shakespeare alluded to this idea in his immortal words, “cowards die many times before their deaths…” It surveys instances of many who, in the midst of life, experience some form of premature death long before their final breath. “Spent,” the final volume, addresses the value of life and its influence upon one’s choice. This collection looks beyond what one sees in the mirror, but gives life to veiled desires left unspoken.
