About the Book
As cliché as it may sound, teenagers are the future of America and with the youth voting block gaining so much attention in recent elections, now more than ever, it is important that American teenagers have a solid understanding of the American political landscape. As such it is necessary to educate America’s teenagers upon the political issues of our time. This book is a compilation of essays that sum up the major issues of our day and advocate for solutions regarding them. The ultimate goal of this book is to help American teenagers understand the basics of many of the issues facing our country today.
About the Author
Varun Jain is a senior at the Thomas Jefferson HS for Science and Technology in Alexandria, VA. Having been interested in politics for some time and noting an unfortunate lack of a similar interest in his peers, he began American Teenagers for Progress, a foundation that aims to engross teenagers in the world of politics through student-led discussions, debates, and talks from speakers such as President Obama. He currently lives at home with his parents and his younger brother. He will be attending Duke University in the fall.
