About the Book

TRAPPED IN THE RIVER is the story of a squirrel who becomes trapped on top of a rock in a raging river. Gracie, the squirrel, becomes frightened of the angry waters and searches for a way to get off of the rock. Hold on to your seat as you ride the many twists and turns that this story takes! Can you think of a way to help Gracie safely get off of the rock before she perishes in the river?

About the Author

Patricia Brower has been an elementary school teacher for 16 years. She has received the honor of being named “Teacher of the Year” in 1999 and again in 2008. Patricia’s life work is teaching students to read, which in turn leads her to publish TRAPPED IN THE RIVER, her first book. Patricia is honored to share this book with her mother, Sigi Vaughn, the illustrator. Sigi holds a degree in horticulture and is a retired elementary school paraprofessional. She enjoys drawing in her spare time.
