About the Author
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Haruo Yokoyama is the founder of World Student Village, an organization that for twenty-five years has provided dormitories for foreign students in Tokyo. In addition, he owns and operates a Japanese language school for foreigners preparing to enter Japanese universities, as well as foreign language schools for Japanese. As a three-term member of the Nerima City (located within metropolitan Tokyo) Assembly, Mr. Yokoyama engaged extensively in activities for the promotion of intercultural exchange between Japanese and foreigners. Mr. Yokoyama has previously published three books in addition to the present work — "A Politician of the Baby Boomer Generation" (1996, Kodansha); "Coexistence with Foreigners in Tokyo" (1996, Kindai-Bungeisha); and "So You Want to Become a Politician?" (1998, Kindai-Bungeisha). "Yankee Dogs and Yellow Perils" is his first book to appear in English.
