About the Book

When her father dies in a tragic alcohol-related car accident, Mickey, at just eighteen feels her loss is unbearable. Much mystery surrounds the cause of death, which leaves her fractured little family in turmoil and with many unanswered questions. In The Big Dipper, Mickey reveals how her extreme love for her daddy causes her to reflect back over the years they had together and come to grips with the untimely death of this unique man. Coming from a dysfunctional and broken home, yet, she still finds that special moments of love, laughter and strong bonds between father and daughter can exist- even in the midst of the direst circumstances. As this memoir unfolds she continues to find solace and peace in those heart-warming reflections. You will surely come to see as you read The Big Dipper that much like the brilliant stars that shine brightly in the night sky, so this father was certainly a bright light in his daughter’s life.
