About the Book
The hardy clans of Thulistan, living in their frigid highlands, have long withstood the ponderous might of the Tulisian army. Now, however, a dark threat has arisen from the lands deep beneath the Empire of Thulistan. Afraid for his people and his nation, one S’hapur (family leader), a stoic man named Morgan, along with his lifetime friend, a lighthearted warrior named Halnan, undertakes a Quest to learn more of the threat from the creatures known as d’rakken mahre. His quest leads him from the frigid northlands of Thulistan where he learns more of the dangers posed by these dark creatures, to the far southern nation of Desil, deep within the Tulisian Empire itself, in an attempt to unravel the mystery of the d’rakken mahre. His journey leads to deep entanglement with an ancient prophecy-- one that forces Morgan to decide who he is to protect; his people, or the d’rakken mahre.
About the Author
Richard Brunke is currently a Vice President for a Unified Communications company, and has spent the last 13 years managing various businesses. When not dealing with the ever-changing technology market, he has written a number of short stories, and two book length manuscripts, simply for the pleasure of writing, and in hopes of providing some entertainment to his readers. His stories tend to develop in worlds of adventure and magic, but focus on the characters themselves; their interactions with the world and with others, and the difficulty of facing their own shortcomings in light of the impossible situations they find themselves in.
