About the Author
Juanita C. “Nita” McFarlin, Author Native of Fairburn, Georgia. Attended school in Fayetteville, Ga. Nita grew up in rural Georgia, married Wayne McFarlin, also raised on a farm. They have 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Nita began painting at an early age and has continued to be successful with her art. She has done political cartoons for local newspapers, paints outside murals on buildings does numerous exhibits of various subjects, including most of the American wars, military uniforms, planes etc. She is a true history buff! Nita was a finalist in the 1999 Ms. Senior Georgia Pageant with an exhibit and vocal presentation of her art. Her latest success and one of which she is extremely proud was the design of the new City Flag for Fayetteville, Georgia. The Mayor and Council of Fayetteville chose her design and Nita was given an award and recognition by several local newspapers as well as the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Nita retired from the City of Fairburn in 1992 after 15 years as secretary for the City Manager. Since then she has volunteered and worked for Christian City Assisted Living in their Life Enrichment Department as an art and exercise instructor. Her goal in life is to share the gifts she was given. This book is an example of her love for children. It was done with the anticipation of their response, hoping it expands their wonder, imagination and appeals to the child living in all of us!
