About the Book

“Tales and Mysteries Past, But Not Forgotten”, is the title of my book. Beginning with my earliest childhood memories of my great-grandmother, the book spans the last seventy-five years of the Twentieth Century. These stories will evoke laughter, tears, and questions. Some of the mysteries remain unsolved and some of the resolutions are hilarious and some are sad.

About the Author

I was born December 28, 1920, in Woodward, Oklahoma. My brother, Billy Maurice Walker, and I, Ruby Katherine Walker, led an adventuresome childhood. After the banks failed in Woodward in 1925, the family eventually settled in Wichita Kansas in 1926. I was a quiet child but listened intently to the adult conversations, gaining insights and knowledge about which the adults were unaware. I graduated from Friends University in 1942 in Wichita. I had a degree in English and French and planned to go to France. World War II changed my plans and I went to work for Transcontinental and Western Airlines for three years, from 1942 until 1945. After marriage in 1945, I had four daughters and a son. In 1974, I started a very successful business, Traveltime, Inc., where I still work full-time. At age eighty-one, I am enjoying a new career, writing.
