About the Book

During the first paranormally influenced nuclear winter, undead Wolfyn, Dak Edward Whitewolf defeats Tomas Pluto by removing his heart.  The heart, a captive blue dwarf, is then absorbed by Dak.  He defeats Pluto's demonic hordes with this new power only to succeed in nearly destroying the world.  Dak knows that his only hope for control lies within the hands of his friend Dr. Raven Murata, an underground scientist who has been missing for quite some time.  Among those who wish to assist in search for her are Dak's  tomboy gal pal Amy Angel, his bloodbrother Spiker (who also shares his Lycanthropic condition despite being a humanoid German Shepherd Mastiff,) and Patti Hamilton.

After performing at a local show with disastrous results ending in the death of a friend, Dak is reconnected with an assassin gang, the Marauders. If he rejoins they'll help him find Dr. Murata.  The Marauders hope to rescue a captive member, Pinz Jackson, from the Vampnoids; an empire of blood sucking vampires who plan to take over Earth by unusual means: home invasion by vid monitor.  Victims fall prey to savage attack by predators, assisted by a pirate cable television company, The Black Network; run by Dr. Alexander Black, Leader of the Vampnoid Empire.

On route to information, Dak falls prey to a vampire bite, infection follows with a brief period of reversible, but unpleasant mutation.  Later he goes to a well-camouflaged data hacking operation.  He and the others learn that Dr. Murata and Pinz are in the same location.  A planet called Deltorne, where Marauders had battled the Vampnoids before.

A drunken Amy is kidnapped in a chaos-filled episode before Dak and Company met and became Marauders.  There is friction between Dak and Director Hirosawa, but somehow they make it work.  Vampnoids attack an Earth-marine base in Fort Worth, saving a victim for last.  Marauders learn after the fact.  Once the Marauders leave Earth , they find trouble with fellow gangs along with vid disk intruders.

Teammates are lost in the brutal path to conclusion.  Space Jockey shootouts with well paid Vampnoid hired hands take place as the Marauders struggle toward their goal of rescue and obliteration of bloodsuckers.  Old faces and new ones arise on the Black Network Front after the Marauders are captured.  We soon learn of henchman Grenier's former identity.  Raven Murata is found alive.

After escape from their space station lair, Marauders join up with another aerial attack front, the Wolverines from Bvenzentrai.  With a well-muscled return-Marauders take down space station BLK, cybermechs against supernatural biohorrors.  Virtual Reality nightmares are brought to life, leaving Dak to Face off against the ultimate video vampire- Alexander Black.  Video Vampire: Ancient Supernatural Threat meets advanced technology.
