About the Book
This story is not unique, nor is it froth with suspense or drama. It is a case history of a teacher going through a 3020-a disciplinary hearing and what transpires behind closed doors. Documented here are the events and the ruminations that occur before hearing the actual charges against the teacher in question. Before this, the controversies that preceded the actual hearing and the manipulation of the facts and witnesses had rarely been documented. In this case, the hearing was cancelled by the administration because the charges were unsubstantiated and erroneous. However, it was the desire to vindicate and clear his name and reputation that made the teacher a liability to the district and a target for retaliation. Sadly, the alternative was to retire rather than continue the futile efforts of fighting those who sought retribution. In an attempt to exorcise this malicious memory, and to prevent another unsuspecting soul from a similar fate, this concise case study was written. It will not be found in texts anywhere else. Additional research and a list of “thou shall nots” have been included for any teacher wishing to remain unscathed by today’s education law. Perhaps the Education Law will under go some needed alterations as soon as teachers begin to fight for their right to “due process.”
