About the Author

Peggy Gwynn was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1927. A few verses, part of the fun and games of early childhood, are still in her possession, in family members' handwriting. Her first formal study was at Philadelphia's adult night school Junto (begun by Benjamin Franklin). In the 1960's she began publishing in little magazines Workshops at West Chester University's conferences reaffirmed her bent toward formal poetry. She has served as editor and anthologist, and has a previous book of poetry, KEEPSAKES, (privately published, 1990). She wrote the libretto for Romeo CascarinoÊs epic opera "William Penn", performed in 1982 at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia
